You have registered to attend the Check Pilotage Workshop, held on Wednesday 26 March at the Shangri-La in Cairns.
This workshop is designed for participants to work together to advance safety and competency standards in the industry. Prompted by the near grounding of Rosco Poplar near Bond Reef, Hydrographers Passage, QLD, on 4 May 2022, the ATSB made critical recommendations for competency assurance and check pilotages.
With an ongoing review of MO54, AMPI is preparing a position paper to outline best practices for Check Pilots. This workshop will bring together maritime educators and expert facilitators, offering participants a collaborative space to contribute directly to this significant paper and shape the future of check pilotage standards.
